Notice what kinds of claims and associations are made for the products. By today's standards, do the ads seem quaint?  Unrealistic?

Films

Technology is often an important subject of films, especially films set in the future.

One of the classic portrayals of the future of technology was the film 2001.  Produced in **, the film showed a possible future society in which technology was a very important part.

An especially interesting scene at the start of the film shows the beginning of the human race's involvement with technology.  It portrays ape-like humans who first discover that an animal bone can be used as a weapon. Then they use the weapon to conquer other apes.

If you get a chance, rent a copy of the film.  Here are some links to information about the film, if you're interested.
